The artist writes that the painting is about remaining strong in a time of chaos. “The woman is standing strong, armed with what she’ll need to handle the danger. The chaos is the transition the world is going through and with wisdom, we’ll have the strength to survive. The snake is a prehistoric marine reptile and it’s an element of danger attempting to intimidate. The Roman ships also represent oncoming danger. The golden pyramid represents a spiritual aspect buried deep inside ‘at the bottom of the sea.’ Overall, I see our current time as a transition where the ugliest aspects of ourselves are rising to the surface. But like admitting there is a problem in therapy- it’s a necessary step. Awareness of what is happening is the strength to see it through.”
