The artist writes “I created an allegory of St Sebastian as the Saint of Plague, but now it’s a new plague and one that is totally under human control, like in the book ‘1984.’ It’s the plague that consumes all humans. The absurd attempt to protect himself with a mask is useless; he will be consumed anyway.”
