It’s hard to find information on Waliszewska’s work and the artist herself said that she doesn’t explain her paintings. That being said, I believe this work is from her 2012 series Nasty Children, where unwritten Gothic fairy tales meet S&M.
Here we see a scratched-up, naked girl fleeing from other children in a dark forest. Judging by their curled up fingers and blood red nails, we can safely assume that these possessed little demons are the ones doing the scratching. Their lips are same colour of red; should their prey trip and fall, she will surely be devoured by the others in some kind of Lord of the Flies situation.
