Jen Dale is a painter, art historian, and curator at Figure Ground Collective, which specializes in museum design and curatorial services. She grew up in Canada and holds a Master’s degree in Art History and a Curatorial Diploma from York University. She has lived in Japan and Mexico, and currently splits her time between Portland, OR and Seattle, WA.
Dale has a particular interest in narrative art, for she feels that stories allow us to connect with one another. We have an evolutionary need for stories, for they help us to imagine all kinds of ‘what if’ scenarios and how we might act if it happened to us. Furthermore, stories can help us understand our current relationships with others, how we fit into society, or even who we are deep down inside.
Dale writes a blog on Substack and articles on Medium.
