This painting is inspired by both Bosch and Diego Rivera. Humans and fantastical creatures frolic in a machine-like urban landscape. People attempt to grow food in a dusty patch. An over-sized cell phone provides the inhabitants of this strange world with an artificial image of the cosmos. Gordon states “To somewhat over simplify the theme, it has to do with humans stuck in the machine  – or in the digital world, but trying to reconnect to nature, to Earth, because we need to.”
