Thrandur Thorarinsson, Björk, 2016

Thorarinsson writes “I was commissioned by a magazine in Iceland (called Reykjavik Grapevine) to do a painting of Björk following the release of her album Vulnicura in 2015. They had gotten an exclusive interview with her and needed some artwork fast.” Thorarinsson has given us the singer as a mythical Greek goddess charming a squid or Cthulhu-like creature out of a basket with frog bagpipes – Björk can even make a croaking frog sound melodic.
